A smart solution to missing school clothes
The solution is a smart tag already sewn into school clothes. When you buy each item you just activate its identity with an SMS. Then any time it gets lost and goes to lost property, you are automatically sent an SMS saying the item is there. The tags are already being used on clothes in 3 Sydney schools. http://www.ragtagd.com

A smart way to breastfeed
Many mums give up breastfeeding because they don't know if their babies are getting enough milk. An Israeli startup has developed a tool to directly address this concern. The product looks like a regular pair of headphones that you plug into your smartphone or tablet, except for a little piece that attaches to a spot on the skin right below your baby's earlobe. The device amplifies the sound of your baby swallowing during breastfeeding, while an animation on the screen shows the patterns of sucks and swallows. At the end of the session, it tells you exactly how much your baby drank. www.mymomsense.com

A new search engine for busy people
This service, devised by a co founder of Twitter, is anonymous, and is based on the idea that people like answering questions. You don?t even need to sign in to use it. When you search, it uses an algorithm to route your question to users who are considered knowledgable about the topic. They answer, and you should get search results a step above what you might find on your average search engine. You can also look through questions others have asked on the service and save those questions, so you see those responses as well. People who answer questions get helpful votes, which are shown on the service, which gives you a guide as to how helpful their answers are. The aim is to give you answers within 10 mins. While this is a human service, in future it's possible that computers will be used. www.askjelly.com
