Hivelight founders Ash Kelso and Xabi Errotabehere, are on a mission to empower lawyers to grow their practices and do their best work. Hivelight puts the focus back on the people in a law practice, providing lawyers with an agile-inspired 'paint-by-numbers' system that makes it easy for everyone to see where all their matters are up to and what needs to be done. Ashley and Xabi hope that Hivelight will also help expand access to justice by enabling lawyers to complete matters more economically and efficiently. Macquarie University, in partnership with Josef Legal and K&L Gates, have been working on building automated chatbots. These bots will aid people who have suffered discrimination, such as racial or disability discrimination, to make a valid complaint to the Australian Human Rights Commission. Although still under construction, these bots will alleviate the complexity of navigating discrimination related laws. This is particularly useful for people from a non-legal background who may have difficulty understanding the law and/or how to make a valid complaint.
