Koalas have home ranges and attachments to particular trees, but they also need to move – to escape fire and to live, breed, expand their gene pool and maintain disease resistance.
The Macarthur region in Sydney is host to a historically continuous population of koalas, known as the Campbelltown population. The population of between 250 and 500 koalas is surviving in a landscape that is predominantly native bushland, connected to rural farmland or peri- urban environment. It is one of the few remaining populations in the Sydney region and is considered to be healthy plus uniquely Chlamydia free.

A new experiment growing food for deeper space exploration and habitation was launched in early summer 2021 involving chili plant seedlings. Chili plants made the news in the last few days as they grew flowers on the Space Station after being pollinated with a little help from astronauts.
The Central Coast wines of California have a new competitor. A company named Ocean Fathoms, is filling iron cages the size of washing machines with wine bottles and dropping them down into the Pacific about 70 feet.By storing the wine in a place without light or oxygen, at a perfect temperature, and with the swaying of the ocean, the wine can improve dramatically boasts this company.The sea life that attaches to the wine bottles makes each unique. Each bottle is adorned with barnacles, coral, seashells and ornate hard shelled tubes formed by annelida sea worms.
