SHARING IDEAS THAT DO GOOD

Aussie tech company creating bionic eye

post-image

Bionic Vision Technologies are developing a bionic eye to restore functional vision similar to a cochlear implant. The implant would be surgically placed on the skull and attached to electrodes at the back of the eye.Images are then translated from cameras, inside a pair of glasses, into electrical signals for the retina to stimulate nerves and deliver visual information to the brain. The signals stimulate the nerves and delivers visual information to the brain. The technique would improve the quality of life for those suffering from inherited retinal disease. | https://original.newsbreak.com/@libby-jane-charleston-561263/2378706782648-tech-company-developing-world-leading-bionic-eye
