Traditionally, deminers have used manual methods to clear fields. Unfortunately, over 100 deminers are killed or injured per year due to accidental detonation. Autonomous robots are not only a lot safer, but they can operate continuously andregardless of the weather, speeding up the process. Co-funded by CSIRO’s Kick-Start program, the team and Molten Labshope to have the new robots deployed in real landmine fields ina few years.
