Charging cars without the grid

Public electric vehicle fast charging points can cost upwards of $100,000 each. A French company is developing a solar car cover based on thin film technology which minimises the need for infrastructure and stops the dashboard from fading at the same time! They can get enough electricity for 15km/day and hoping to increase it to 48km within 3 years. Not quite ready but worth keeping an eye out for in the future.
