She began baking at 9. A little tentative around the oven but baking from scratch nonetheless .

By 10 she was tackling complete cakes, decorating and theming them for Birthdays and events. 

By 11 she was selling weekly sweet selections that her mother took to work - a gold coin donation to pay for the ingredients fed her loyal customers.

But watching videos and being self-taught has its limitations, and she became frustrated with the more complex methods she craved to learn. 

Until her idol Adriano Zumbo changed her world - making Lily's dream come true in one perfect weekend of baking.
