SHARING IDEAS THAT DO GOOD

Koco a Knitwear Success Story

post-image
A partnership between Australian Fashion entrepreneur Danielle Chiel and women who live in southern India who together produce the highest grade handmade knitted products for the big fashion brands. This partnership is changing lives by educating, empowering and employing unskilled women. Making positive change in the villages where knitting hubs are established. Each artisan undertakes a paid seven month apprenticeship, where she learns practical English, basic maths and becomes an expert knitter. Each item is meticulously and personally produced- no machine intervention, no waste & no carbon footprint. www.koco.global
