Over the years Aida realized that much of the inspiration for her pieces came from the randomness of her day-to-day life in Addis Ababa. She was obsessed with capturing as many moments as possible and found motivation from the light, the people, the streets, and all that she encountered. The foundation of her visual language stems from her experiences as a photojournalist. Alick Tipoti is a world renowned professional artist from Badu Island in the Torres Strait. His work depicts many meaningful symbols about the Land Sea & Sky of his country through traditional Melanesian patterns. Alick translates & interprets images of his spiritual ancestors and their totems. He also shares & educates general ancient knowledge about Torres Strait Islander culture. Most of his works are accompanied by traditional Chants, Songs & Dance.
