SHARING IDEAS THAT DO GOOD

Exploration of Re-Purposing Plastics (PLA), Milk Bottles, Cups and Cutlery, in 3D Printing.

In todays world, consumerism and mass production are at an all time high. Consequently plastic waste is greater than ever. Reusing and repurposing materials for new endeavors, will allow for far greater sustainability.

My 3D printed speaker seeks to pose the question, how far can we go using repurposed plastics for 3D printing. My printed concept of a Portable speaker is limited to the access of equipment and processes which are able to repurpose old plastic milk bottles into printable PLA. Further exploring what can be done with recyclable products would allow even further creative exploration and progression of sustainability.

This looks like a challenging and useful project Sebastian. These posts mentioning recycling on IdeaSpies may give you some ideas. You could search plastic for more.

Repurposing plastic bottles for a printable speaker is a great idea. Might be worth getting a donation drive of old milk bottles from coffee shops or your local neighbourhood to collect your source material. ????
