SHARING IDEAS THAT DO GOOD

Transforming Mainstream Products for People with Disabilities

post-image
If you want special furniture or equipment, you go to special stores. Based on its vision to design furniture that work for all shoppers, Ikea's branch in Israel collaborated with Access Israel and Milbat has launched a new project called ThisAbles. This project creates a range of bestselling products to be accessible for people with special needs and disabilities. Extended couch legs, an oversized switch for lamps, and special handles are the examples of new add-ons that were made to solve a different accessibility issue. Shoppers can also download free blueprints for 3-D printouts anywhere. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/03/15/ikea-is-making-furniture-better-people-with-disabilities-with-help-d-printers/
