Talking with Holocaust survivors even after they die
While filmed Holocaust survivors are currently only visible in the medium of 2D projections, filming from every angle of them allows programmers to create lifelike holograms of them. By asking them lots of questions a database can be created of answers. When you ask a question, the algorithm looks through all of the database, 'Do I have an answer to that.' And then it'll bring back what it thinks is the closest answer to your question. AI can bring more of these survivors and their stories virtually back to life. The interactive nature of asking questions and instantaneously receiving first-person responses will dramatically  humanize our understanding of history. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/holocaust-stories-artificial-intelligence-60-minutes

Hardware innovations with AI + energy efficiencies
While Moore's law is ending lets also seriously consider energy consumption rates - no less important for AI innovators. E.g Israeli hardware startup Hailo - they're releasing a chip that enables devices to run algorithms that would have required a DC worth of compute in the past. That's AI at the lowest edge! If we perform AI tasks without the need for a cloud connection and the architecture is energy efficient (and needs less active cooling), what else can we build? Mobility, smart cities, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, smart retail...https://www.eetimes.com/details-of-hailo-ai-edge-accelerator-emerge/#https://hailo.ai/ Image by IO-Images from Pixabay

Hearts from Stem Cells
Hearts created from stem cells could make transplants obsolete. Australia has developed a human heart using a 3-D process developed by Israeli scientists. The prototype is the size of a rabbit heart with blood vessels, ventricles and chambers. It did not have a heart beat however scientists believe the new heart replacement process will make heart transplants obsolete. https://neweconomy.media/2019/07/22/hearts-created-from-stem-cells-could-make-transplants-obsolete/

A replacement for heart transplants
A major breakthrough in technology to develop a human heart using a 3-D-process has been made by Israeli scientists at Tel Aviv University.Scientists developed a human heart about the size of a rabbit’s heart complete with blood vessels, ventricles and chambers and confidence is rising that developing a human heart using a patient’s own cells, is getting closer. https://neweconomy.media/2019/07/22/hearts-created-from-stem-cells-could-make-transplants-obsolete/
