Simple food labelling to reduce food waste
In an interesting move towards reducing food waste, Unilever is using now the words 'often good after' along with 'best before' in certain product labels. Because many consumers don't understand the difference between 'best before' and 'use by' in food labelling, the company is using simple wording to help them avoid throwing away too much food by indicating it's still safe to eat after the expiry date. A deposit return scheme that reduces littering
A deposit return scheme that experts say drastically reduces the number of plastic bottles and cans littering streets and seas is being introduced around the world. The idea has the backing of global drinks company Coca-Cola and comes amid warnings that the worldwide plastics binge poses as serious a threat as climate change. Making beekeeping less work & more fun
This new hive makes it easier for the beekeeper as well as the bees. The bees don?t even seem to notice when the honey pours out into your jars. Of course there's more to beekeeping than harvesting honey. You still need to look after your bees and do all the normal things to keep your hives happy and healthy. Beekeeping is a fascinating, rewarding and addictive hobby for many people. www.honeyflow.com.au

A water capsule you can drink
Plastic bottles make it easy to transport water, but it takes energy to make the bottles. When you?re done with your drink, it takes more energy to unmake the bottle, as plastics won?t fully degrade on their own. Now a startup called Skipping Rock Labs thinks we can just skip plastic bottles entirely. It has developed a capsule called ?Ooho!? for transporting water that is not only biodegradable, it?s edible. https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/247672-seaweed-based-water-pouch-aims-end-need-plastic-bottles
